Description

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been practicing in St. Petersburg since 1986. I work with couples and individuals on a variety of issues including communication with spouse or significant others including parents, friends and children, coping with major life changes such as illness or death of a loved one and coping with traumatic events, past and present. Today we live in a complex, stressful society which creates difficulties for all of us. Sometimes coping with these difficulties creates problems in our relationships, including our family, friends, the workplace, and the larger community. The inability to solve these problems often leads to feelings of self-doubt and self-blame, as well as feelings of being overwhelmed and depressed. As adults, we find it hard to admit we have problems we can't solve ourselves. Sometimes we need professional assistance to help us identify old thinking and behavioral patterns that may have worked previously but are now keeping us trapped. I believe all people come to therapy with their own unique strengths and problem-solving skills. My goal as a therapist is to help clients create a new vision of themselves, recognizing and understanding their inner strength and wisdom.
